Ha. We don't have daylight savings time here, so I managed October.

I just realized at 2am this morning when someone mixed up my online nicknames and called me 'Kity'.

Kitomyx = Kit
Tymiko = Ty

Kit + Ty = KitTy. Kitty. Heh. One of my older nicknames I nearly forgot. Isn't that odd?

*sigh* Sorry for my lack of promised art, people. College has been seeming just like high school, with just enough work to manage and keep one busy. Maybe I'm just taking a lot of credits or something. I don't know.

Well, my tablet's broken. And seeing other people's CG art has begun to depress me severly, knowing that I'm so slow with mine. I can't make any progress if I don't draw, neh? I have time to sketch once in a while, but when I get inspired, it's usually when I should be doing something else (such as sleeping or doing homework) so I usually have problems. @_@ I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. Doesn't inspiration hit at the most inconvenient times?

I need to ask my dad to see if there's anything to do to fix my tablet. Just when I was getting back into CGing, too... and I have been working hard volunteering at the Saboten-Con this weekend; all three days. Last night was tiring from 6pm to 10pm, and we didn't even get to go around after our shift because most of the things closed at 9pm. Today we worked 9am to 1pm, so we had more time, but when we went through Artist's Alley, I just got more depressed. I miss doing CG art. ;_;

Still, I cheered up a little while later - got a Demyx plushie. ^^ Pretty pleased, especially since I don't have too many anime things and as my first anime dool, that seemed to make him extra special. I love that he's a water elemental, and the fact that he talks and acts just like Disney's Puck doesn't hurt either, hehe.

and I actually did something this year I never thought I'd be able to manage; we attempted to make our own costumes. And you know what? I'd say we succeeded pretty well. She was Pikachu, her favorite pokemon, and I was a Shiny Mew, with a bubble ring full of bubble fluid to blow bubbles at people. XD Of course Pikachu was more recognizable than I was, but once people realized that I was a Shiny and not a Manaphy, (guess my 5 1/2 ft tail looked like his antennae things) I got a pretty good reception myself. There was supposed to be a Pokemon Gijinka photoshoot we had been invited to, but they cancelled it due to lack of organization.

I thought that was a shame. So since we had a friend dressing as Jessie with us, and we saw a few Ashes, a Red, a Gary, a trio of Team Magma and even a trio of Team Rocket Grunts, I proposed we have a contest: who could catch the most pokemon and collect them at the front of the hotel at 3:15pm. It was a huge success. A few people didn't get to make it in time, but for the most part we were all there and people began to line up to get a picture of our awesome group shot. Not to mention take pictures for us with OUR cameras. Just shows what you can do with a little creativity, good connections, and some passionate friends. I loved learning so much about the BJDs too. Since we volunteer tomorrow for the same hours we did today, hopefully we'll get to see them one more time before we leave again at 6om.

It's really helped me I think. Lately I've just felt a little...more trapped than usual. Mostly personal stuff, like I feel I can't be too happy or sad around my mother. She's not been feeling well lately, but I think that's been affecting her emotional state, because she seems to overreact with the smallest things I do. It just depresses me that I can't even express myself when she's around. Do you have anyone you just feel you have to surpress your true self around? Even if it's yourself that puts those limits and not them?

I don't know...I think I'm just having trouble coming to terms with the idea that some people are just the way they are. In an ideal world, everyone would be able to be who they are; not feel like they have to hide behind any mask of any sort. They wouldn't have to act differently depending on who they were with. They could just be...them. But this is not an ideal world. And we all have different sides to us. We all have masks, don't we?

Heh...anyway. It's Halloween. It's natural for people to wear masks this time of year. And, as the 2009 Halloween Saboten-con has reminded me, sometimes it's nice once in a while to get away from who you are and be someone else. As long as it's not someone you're forced to be - it's someone you want to be.
